THE DEVELOPMENTAL BENEFITS OF SENSORY PLAY FOR BABIES

jocornally

Sensory play encourages babies to explore and experiment with their surroundings, fostering a sense of curiosity and wonder about the world around them.

Play is our passion here at Ready Steady Play, it is what we do! To watch your little ones develop and grow right in front of our eyes at our classes is an honour we cherish everyday!

Play is crucial for babies holistic development as it supports their cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, and creative skills.

Below are some ways in which play contributes to your babies development:

COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT

Sensory play stimulates babies' senses and helps them to make connections between what they see, hear, touch, and feel. This can help to improve their cognitive development and problem-solving skills.

SENSORY INTEGRATION

Engaging in sensory play activities can help babies to process and integrate sensory information more effectively, improving their overall sensory processing skills

LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

Exploring different sensory materials can provide babies with opportunities to learn new words and concepts, as they describe what they see, hear, and feel during play.

MOTOR DEVELOPMENT

Sensory play encourages babies to explore and manipulate different textures, shapes, and objects, which helps to strengthen their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

SOCIAL SKILLS

Sensory play can be a fun and engaging way for babies to interact with others, developing their social skills and encouraging cooperative play.

EMOTIONAL REGULATION

Sensory play can be a calming and soothing experience for babies, helping them to regulate their emotions and reduce stress or anxiety.

SOCIAL SKILLS

Sensory play can be a fun and engaging way for babies to interact with others, developing their social skills and encouraging cooperative play.

BRAIN CONNECTION AND NEURAL PATHWAYS

Play stimulates the formation of new neural connections in a babies brain. It strengthens existing connections and helps establish important neural pathways related to various skills and abilities.

Overall, play provides a rich and stimulating environment for babies, allowing their brains to develop and grow in multiple areas simultaneously. It supports their cognitive, language, motor, social, emotional, and creative development, laying the foundation for future learning and success.

WHAT THE PARENTS SAY ON GOOGLE REVIEWS

The progress in development that I seen in my child since we started this class in February is surreal. She has really come out of her shell and seeing her thrive is amazing. Jo has been so lovely to us and is so good and friendly to my daughter. You can tell she really cares for every child. We will definitely be back in September!

My little boy started Sensory Baby Play and Music Class at 6 months. He is now almost 11 months and it is the highlight of our week. He and I absolutely love it. Jo is our teacher, she is extremely gifted at her job. She has such a kind and nurturing personality as well as being vibrant and enthusiastic. She remembers all the baby's names which brings such a personal touch to the class. Each week she takes us on a different adventure and my little man is left in awe. Ready Steady Play is a safe space for my baby to develop his fine and gross motor skills. As well as becoming quite social as he interacts with the other babies in the class. I too, have met so many lovely mums! Jo's classes have a calming affect on him and he always has a super long sleep afterwards. I have been at so many different baby and Play groups and Ready Steady Play outshines them all. Jo has got the most top quality resources, the room set up each week is amazing. Her songs are so catchy. She provides endless activities, the time passes too quickly! Jo has taught me so much practical tips and ways to enhance my sons cognitive development at home. Her passion child development and bringing joy too little ones is so evident. We can't wait to continue learning and having fun each week.

Highly recommend Ready Steady Play for babies and babies. The classes are so engaging and full of information regarding babies development with tips and tricks to incorporate at home. I've brought both of my children and both rolled for the first time in the class! I really think that it played a part in the transition to crèche also. Good value for money and excellent venue in Portlaoise Parish Centre (Warm and good facilities, parking etc ).

Ready Steady Play is everything you could wish for in a Baby Sensory Class, fun themes and activities that are perfectly pitched to encourage each child’s development in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s also a nice opportunity to meet other new mums. My daughter has loved the activities and has come on so much since we started attending the classes. Edwina is superb with the children and has lots of useful tips for activities at home. We are already looking forward to next term. 10/10

We have been attending ready steady play classes since Amy was 4 months old. She is now 13 months. It is the highlight of our week. She gets so excited when we arrive for class. She was quiet shy at the beginning but she has really progressed and now loves interacting with the other babies and Edwina. Edwina is great with the kids and makes the class so much fun. We love the singing and props and there is always bubbles!! It is also great for the mums and dads to meet and have a chat.. I would highly recommend ready steady play classes if you are considering baby sensory for your little one😊
